Eleven years ago, I was breastfeeding my baby boy when I began to notice how difficult it was to
hold him in my arms. Every time I went to feed him, it felt like I was holding a bag of bricks and
a buzzing sensation trickled down my arm.
I decided to head to the Emergency Room to get checked out, and (to my surprise) they told me
it was “just stress” and sent me on my way.
But the surgery wasn’t the hardest part of this whole situation. It was the chronic pain and
exhaustion I was left with afterward.
It was having to relearn how to do normal activities like walk, manage house chores and most
importantly, taking care of the kids.
It was feeling resentful that my body couldn’t do all the things it used to be able to do.
It was missing out on events and gatherings just further leading to feelings of isolation.
It was having family members and friends not understand because I “looked fine”.
I knew I wanted to have some sort of “normal” life after this diagnosis, so I used the knowledge
I had from working as a Registered Dietitian to ensure I was getting all the nutrients I needed
to support energy, decrease inflammation in my body, and reduce overwhelm in the kitchen.
Through my coaching program, I provide highly individualized, evidence-based support to help you to decrease inflammation, fatigue, and pain. Whether those symptoms came from surgery, endometriosis, a car accident, or an unknown cause. I want to be the person to remind you that I hear you, I see you, I relate to you, and we will figure this out together. I live in Toronto Ontario with my husband, two busy kids and two fur babies!
Now, I am living with chronic pain from surgery in addition to endometriosis, but I do more of the things that make my life
worthwhile such as going on trips with my family, playing soccer with my son at the park,
taking a fun pilates class, and helping others in similar situations heal.
After completing my undergraduate degree in Applied Human Nutrition and my post graduate
dietetic internship, I have two decades of experience as a Registered Dietitian
helping various people struggling with a variety of health conditions.
While working with individuals struggling with chronic pain, I felt an immediate sense of joy as
their quality of life improved dramatically and they had the extra energy to move more. Now
through my own personal experience, I feel like I can relate more to my clients and I love the
work I get to do.
